VACUUM PACKAGING

Primary field of use is the packaging of food products (e.g. pickles, natural and smoked meat products etc). Research into packaging materials for fulfilling new functions has been more and more successful in recent years regarding foils that in interaction with the packaged goods promote their protection, the preservation of its consistency and lengthens shelf life. The vacuum packaging materials actively participate in fulfilling the functions required of the packaging, their specific characteristic is that over and above the "traditional" packaging and protecting task, they also preserve the quality of the product safely and for an extended period as they reduce the oxygen permeability. It is an indisputable fact that a good quality aesthetically pleasing packaging is an organic part of the saleability of a product and the investment in the packaging material is fully recovered, therefore it is worth placing great emphasis on its selection and design. The vacuum packaging technology applied simultaneously with cold storage enables the preservation of the quality of the food products for long periods. It protects non-food products from for example moisture, mists and other damaging external effects. Foils to be used for vacuum packaging shall have the following characteristics:

  • Good sealability;
  • Good gas and steam proof qualities.

VACUUM PACKS
The raw material for the vacuum bag is a multi-layered coextruded foil, in which one of the layers is sealable PE (polyethylene) or PP (polypropylene), and its middle layer, as a protective layer, is of PA (polyamide). With lamination further material associations can be created e.g. PET (polyethylene -terephthalate). The material and quality of the vacuum bag largely define the result of the vacuum packaging. In practice two methods are applied for airtight packing: - Direct vacuum By fitting the extraction pipe of the external vacuum equipment, "the vacuum pump" directly to the mouthpart of the packaging material, the air is only sucked out from the inside of the package. -Indirect vacuum The packaging material is placed in a chamber where the vacuum pump creates a vacuum; with this the surrounding vacuum also sucks the air out of the packaging. Our company offers transparent vacuum bags that can be sealed with chamber vacuum bagging machines in individual sizes according to order, satisfying the numerous requirements of fresh food product packaging e.g.:
  • Low oxygen permeability
  • Low steam permeability
  • Light exclusion
  • Retaining aromas
  • Protection against mechanical damage.
Our bags are available in the following formats:
The bags can be made from tube or half tube and according to requirements coloured and /or printed finish:
  • Bottom sealed,
  • Side sealed.

Size range:
Width: 160 mm – 800 mm –ig
Length: 200 mm – 1000 mm-ig
Thickness: 45 µm – 200 µm–ig;

The vacuum keeping gas and aroma retaining qualities of the bags can satisfy the highest of requirements and with flexo printing a high quality appearance can be created.

HIGH VACUUM FOILS

The PA closure block guarantees high impermeability as well as very good heat forming characteristics and high packaging safety . Its raw material: co extruded multi layered flat or plain foil with a sealing layer. Typical characteristics: good airtight qualities, significantly increasing shelf life of the product, resistance to puncture damage, transparent glossy appearance, easily sealable and printable ( 6 colour flexo printing). One of the specialist fields of use is CHEESE packaging, where a fundamental requirement is the release of C02 and the exclusion of oxygen.
Size range:
Width: 200 – 800 mm-ig
Thickness: 120 µm – 200 µm-ig
Colour choice: white, yellow, green, red, transparent
The field of use of high vacuum foils are typically the packaging of meat, poultry, game, cheese and other food products. Every foil specifically developed for vacuum forming has excellent sealing characteristics guaranteeing high sealing solidity, which are not influenced by the sealing of contaminated surfaces to any great extent. Further characteristics:
- Easily detached, enables flexible product packaging,
- Suitable for the packing and cooking of hot products that are to be heat treated, pasteurised, and sterilised.

COVERING FOIL FOR VACUUM PACKAGING

The covering foil is suitable for the packaging of soft and ridged trays. It is a very high gloss, transparent material and ensures a favourable appearance of the product. It can also be used for the packaging of products not requiring vacuum.
Size range:
Width: 200 – 800 mm-ig
Thickness: 45 µm - 200 µm-ig
Colour choice: white, yellow, green, red, transparent.
